I'm planning to buy another memory card for my laptop (Lenovo G400-0670) but I don't know the clock speed (PC12800 or other) of the current memory card. I've tried using crucial.com's system scan and CPU-Z by CPU-ID but none of them gave me the information I need. I've tried googling but the results only consists of selling or buying the laptop.
Basically, whoever designed my laptop keyboard didn't have video games in mind, as the Fn key is on the left of the Ctrl key (so Ctrl is no longer on the extreme bottom left). This gets very annoying at times. Anyone know how I can change my Fn key to function as another Ctrl key?
Some info:
I'm using Windows 8
The laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad.
I do have a usb keyboard, but I keep it in my dorm, and right now, I'm at home an hour and a half away, so I can't exactly use it.
I'd rather not have to download anything if it can be helped. I'm a bit cautious about downloading random crap off the internet.
I just got my Lenovo Flex 2 and plugged it in and pressed the power button. I heard beeping and held on to the power button when it wouldn't load up. Now the power button light is blinking and I can feel air escaping out of the fan but it won't turn on.
The apps loading rate or usb transfer rate and all… It is Windows8.1, 1tb hard disk, 8gb ram…
So I got my Lenovo g500 last year for christmas. At first it worked well and then I updated to windows 8.1. Since then whenever i'm using the Wi-Fi anywhere the connection will randomly switch to limited and remain that way until I disconnect and reconnect. This is rather annoying as it happens every five minutes when its especially bad. I have no problems if I'm directly connected to my router with an ethernet cable. Also no one else in my house is experiencing this problem with devices ranging from smart phones to other laptops. If it matters I think the laptop has the broadcom 802.11 wireless card. Also in device manager allow the computer to turn this off to save power is switched off.

I'm more of a console gamer and i have never really gotten into pc gaming. I've only downloaded games online but have never bought one physically so my question is, do i need an actual gaming pc to buy those pc discs or can i just buy them and play it on my current laptop? (it is a lenovo, in case its necessary)
I've already tried adjusting the built in controls but not much help. The whole touchpad+keyboard behavior is way to chaotic and unpredictable. In just the time it took me to write this, the cursor has jumped around several times. Text suddenly starts overwriting, stalls, doesn't respond well, and is overall a POS, as mentioned…
I'm looking for a laptop atm that cañ play games and that I can do game development on. I have a mid ranged desktop already and want a laptop for development and gaming on the go. I know that cheaper laptops tend to be good in certain areas and worse in others so let me tell you the main specs I'm looking for.
1) good CPU and GPU
2) good amount of space,1tb is good for me
3) good framerates
Battery power I don't care about since I can just get one of those portable charger things they have now.
Heat, I'm sure they all get pretty hot but less hot would be better. Ill get a cooler tho.
I'm thinking about the lenovo y50 becausel the specs are good and its cheap.
Budget is around $1000 give or take.
Hopefully someone can answer this also, there's different model number code thingies for the y50 and something called 4k. Any idea what those are?
