Why is minecraft so slow?

I have a lenovo laptop that I just got two months ago. I can run battlefield, tombraider, etc. On medium settings. Then I get to minecraft. It runs at 20 fps and not even full settings. It has to be something with minecraft. Here is my PC:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
RAM: 8 GB
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT 730m 2 GB
Screen Size: 1920x1080
Storage: 1 TB

Why is Minecraft, of all games, running so slow?!

Can I upgrade RAM and/ or Processor of this touchscreen laptop? New laptop running very slow?

Gaming laptop bs Xbox one?

I have a an Xbox one and a Lenovo y50 touch uhd. The laptop cost $1400 and I think it's pretty good compared to others of that price. The specs seem like they are better than those of the Xbox one, but when it seems that my Xbox runs games faster than my laptop. Does this sound right or should my laptop be faster than my Xbox at similar video settings?

Good cheap laptop for simple stuff?

I've been wanting a good budget laptop (or netbook it doesn't matter) for basic stuff. I'm thinking of around 250-300$ budget, and all I really want it for is to just surf the Web, and type papers. I also am addicted to Minecraft and Terrarria, and I'd like about 30-35 frames per second. Is there any laptop/netbook that can do that? Also it must be Windows 7/8.

Which Laptop is better

I want to buy a laptop and I can't really know which should I go with. Should I buy a
Lenovo G50-70 with specifications. Specs: Processor: Intel Core i7 4510U - 2.0Ghz Ram: 6GB Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R5 230M Screen: LED - 1366x768 - 15.6 Inches Windows 8

OR

Lenovo Z500 with Specifications like:
Specs:

Processor: Intel Core I5 3230M
CPU: 2.6 GHZ - Turbo Boost (3.20 GHZ)
Ram: 4GB - Can be upgraded to 8 GB
Graphics Card: Nvidia GT740M
Display: 15.6 INCHES
Windows 8

Now I want to know which laptop is better for surfing internet, watching movies, smoother and gaming. I do not want to play games on ultra, I focus on gaming on consoles more. I just want gaming for games like The Sims, things that are exclusive for PC. So which one should I get? No price different, only 20 dollars. Not a big deal, and which one has a better life span?
