Which laptop should I ask for for graduation?

I just graduated from high school, and I want my first laptop for college. No more than around $900. Here are some that I'm looking at. I wanted to buy a customized HP Envy, but it doesn't have that battery life I'm looking for, but is still an option for sure. A MacBook Air, ew I know, but they last FOREVER and have GREAT battery life. Or a Lenovo or Asus of some sort. I want an Envy because it's powerful, and has awesome Beats Audio. I would want a MacBook Air because of the battery and longevity. Also a THinkpad or Asus because they are also so durable. What do you think? Oh and my parents said they'll put $500 towards a laptop.

Macbook Pro vs Lenovo Y40 vs other?

Right now I'm in need of help, because well right now I have a 15 inch 2010 Core I5 with 8 GB of RAM Macbook Pro with GT 330m and a broken battery, should I sell it for 850$ and an extra 50$ to buy a Lenovo Y40(or another laptop, please leave a suggestion) or should I just fix it for 85$?

What I need in a laptop is: Stylishness
Compactness
Slimness(But not as slim as an ultrabook like a Macbook Air, Sony Vaio 13, etc", I would prefer something around a Razer Blade or a Macbook Pro Retina or the Lenovo Y40, but the slimness of the Macbook Pro non-retina is fine too, just don't be thicker than a Macbook Pro non-retina)
Good Display
Good Keyboard
A little bit of power(I'll be doing some softcore gaming like Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare)
Lightweight(Not heavier than a Macbook Pro non-retina)

How long will I it take to reset my laptop to factory settings?

I have a lenovo (not sure which model ) And literally just felt like wiping it clean so I did

BUT ITS TAKING FOREVER

I THINK ITS BEEN NEARLY 1HR AND I'm AT 20% ! Did I do something wrong? Is it meant to take this long?

And how long approx will it take thank you.

Can i replace my Graphic Cards with good ones?

My Laptop is a Dell Inspiron R15,
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows 8.1
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4500U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.40GHz
8.00 GB (7.88 GB usable)
64-bit Operating System, x64 based processor
No Pen or Touch Input is Available for this Display
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With all of that, Aion (An MMoRPG) and Tera (An MMoRPG Too) work with less than 20 FPS, it really sucks and i bought this Laptop for 999$, while my friend who bought his Laptop for 800$ can run games very smoothly, and i found the reason was, my Graphic Cards were Weak, and his were Strong, even though his Laptop is Cheaper, here's my Graphic Card
-------------------------------------------------------
AMD Radeon HD 8670M
Intel (R) HD Graphics Family
-------------------------------------------------------
I Really regret buying this Laptop, i thought all what matters for gaming is Processors, so i picked a i7 with such weak graphics, not knowing graphics would effect the gameplay,
so i wonder is it possible to replace the Graphic Cards in a Professional Place that sells Laptop? And if not, is it possible to replace the Laptop with another one for one with paying less than 100$?

Is the Lenovo ideapad Y510p good?

I'm thinking of getting this laptop http://www.tertiarydigital.com/lenovo-ideapad-y510p.html

Can it run Watch Dogs on medium-high settings? Is it good for other games like Far cry 3? Can it run other games that come out later in the year?

Added (1). Also it uses windows 8.1 I've heard that it isn't as good as windows 7 for gaming. Will it be a problem? Or can i downgrade to windows 7?

I'm wondering what the limiting component on my laptop is?

I have an Acer Aspire One laptop.

The specs are (from of dxdiag):
Processor - Intel Celeron CPU 847 @ 1.10GHz (2 CPUS), ~1.1GHz

2048 MB RAM

Intel HD Graphics Family Chip - 1058MB

If I was going to upgrade a component, what would it be? Is it worth it?

Added (1). I'm running Windows 8.1 Btw. And I use this computer for school and some gaming. I recently installed Skyrim and have been playing that with some mild lag on the low settings.

Dell Inspiron 7537 or ASUS N550JV / N550LF or lenovo Z510/Y510?

HI, i want to buy a new laptop, i want something reliable, fast, long lasting, & almost can do it all.
i kinda want it as a pc replacement, with a great screen to watch movies. I'm not a heavy gamer but i need it to play some games in a decent quality. I did a little research & narrowed the options to the above mentioned 3 laptops. I have questions & concerns about each of them & will appreciate your help.
Inspiron 7537 - poor Wi-Fi connection? Not that good display? Dell laptops breakdown frequently? No dvd. Worth the price?
Lenovo z510. Not that good display? Looks cheap? Is it really reliable & serve long time.
Lenovo y510. Is there any real differernce between it & the z510. Again the display, built quality & if it really worth the price.
ASUS N550JV / ASUS N550LF. I really don't know what's the difference between these 2, touchscreen in the LF maybe? Anyway. I liked these alot but i didn't find any detailed review of any of them, there's complains though about slow performance as a result of windows 8?! I don't want to stuck with a slow laptop at the end. It's a lifetime purchase.
If you have any other suggestions i will appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Added (1). forget to mention, Battery life?! I hate to be connected to charger all time. Will appreciate 2-3 hrs battery life.

Added (2). another thing. What about overheating & fan noise?!
& when you post answer, would you please explain why you recommend that specific model?
Thnaks.

Added (3). update 3 - i really like the presence of DVD Drive in Asus & Lenovo.
