What is the Best laptop for an IT student?
Planning to buy.
Planning to buy.
I have a lenovo thinkpad that runs on windows 8.
how can i fix this problem?
I'm not exactly sure why it's squealing, but the noise is unbearable. The closer I (or any object) get to the front end -around the speakers- the louder the noise is. It started yesterday and well… If anyone can help and tell me how to fix it I'd appreciate it.
I'm in the process of deciding on which kind of laptop I want. The main purpose of it would be for school but in my spare I enjoy watching things online and I play Sims 3. I have narrowed down that if I get a gaming/multimedia laptop it'll be a Lenovo Y-series because of the good price and quality($719 w/e-coupon).
My old laptop is Toshiba Satellite. It did ok handling Sims 3 but I was only able to play 1 expansion pack at a time, I couldn't have more than 2 worlds at a time installed, and I was limited to how many downloadable items I could install without having it lag more. Eventually the laptop burned out.
My cousin has a Lenovo ThinkPad and he has thousands of songs on his and 2 games: Sims 3 along with 1 expansion pack and one of those Japanese H-games. Everything seems to run a lot smoother on his laptop than it did on mine.
So is the gaming laptop nesscesary? Should I breakdown and get the Lenovo? Is there a better less pricey opinion?
Water spilt mainly on the touchpad and a little went inside the keyboard. A small amount touched the bottom part too (Some amount of water went under the laptop). There's a chance of water having gone through a broken opening. But everything seems to work fine. Should I take any action now? Is any late effect possible? (model = Lenovo Ultrabook U410)

Save me the "there are better laptops" spiel because I'm only considering this because of my budget. Can this laptop run dota 2 on normal settings?
Okay, recently i just had my laptop repaired because of the constant 100% disk usage as well as possible overheating.
3 days after getting my laptop back from the shop, i went into the usual games i play, Path of Exile and Dota 2. My temperature readings from RealTemp program was 75 degrees Celsius constantly when i'm in these games even though its on the lowest setting. My power plan is also set to Balanced.
The 2 days after i got back my laptop, everything fine, temperatures were at 50 - 58 degrees Celsius while on idle and goes up to 68 degrees Celsius while in the exact same games.
My specs on this 2 year old Lenovo Y400 laptop are: Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz, 8GB RAM, 64 bit processor and x64 based processor.
Should i be concerned about the change in temperature when i'm gaming or is it just something normal?
PS: My room is also kinda warmer compared to the past 2 days. Could something this simple be the actual cause?
So i have a Lenovo laptop! And recently the headphones stopped working, Nothing's broken in it i'm sure, and i tired all different types of headphone. But it's getting really annoying! How can I fix it?
So I'm a Computer Eng. Major and i definitely want to get a Thinkpad, but also on a budget. I'm debating between the E540 and the L440. Looking to upgrade from the base model to and i5 processor as well. Any suggestions or opinions will be greatly appreciated. I actually also found a Toshiba i7 laptop but am a little hesitant to go towards Toshiba…
I'm using a Lenovo Z580 and I always use it whilst charging, for performance and obviously I don't want to have to worry about battery, due to this, my battery has only gone flat about 3 times. Usually my boot times would be around the 46 second mark, which was nice and quick. A few days ago, I was using my laptop and only running CCleaner when my battery went flat, since then I have had much slower boot times, the laptop is slightly slower in general but the main difference is the boot time, which is now taking 1 - 2.5 minutes. I ran a chkdsk and I have done malware and virus scans, nothing has been found. What could be causing this issue? And how can I go about fixing it?
