Does charging your laptop typically affect the performance?

I don't know much about computers, but my friends had recommended the lenovo ideapad y510p for gaming purposes to fit my budget and it runs pretty well; although, when I don't have it plugged in, it severely affects its performance. I can't run any games at any graphics or resolution without it lagging at least a bit, even terraria lags. I'm wondering if this happens with some laptops or if I should call up the manufacturer.

Good gaming laptop of a budget of 700?

Gaming as in Minecraft, Garry's Mod, Dinosaur Horde, Dota 2, TF2, The Walking Dead, etc. Must haves: A good graphics card, hardly any lag, a mic and webcam.

I understand that finding a decent gaming laptop for this amount of money is hard, but I need some suggestions that won't get me bankrupt.

Read disks Lenovo y510p SLI?

I want to buy a Lenovo y510p with SLI. But the thing is, I know the second graphics card occupies the place where the CD/ DVD reader/ player normally is. What if I want to run a disk game? I read somewhere online about getting a disk drive, ejecting the second graphics card, and just slotting it in. Does the disk drive come with the laptop? If not where can I buy one?

Lenovo Ideapad Y470 + Sims 3 = shuts down suddenly?

I have this laptop for two years, Lenovo Ideapad Y470, and have installed the sims 3 on it. As far as I know, the specs with the game would work fine, but when I open the game, it only loads until the loading screen until 80% then the laptop suddenly shuts down.
I don't know if it is a problem with the game or with the laptop.
Please advise.

Guys i'm going to buy a gaming laptop lenovo y510p with an ultrabay and in that laptop there are different model like the processors are i5 and i7
and ram will be of 8gb 12gb 16gb
and coming to hard disk all of them have 1TB hdd commonly but ssd differs such as 8GB 12GB 24GB
and they are models with ssd also
and coming to graphic card nvidia 2GB gt 750m and gt755m with nvidia 2GB sli gt750m and gt755m
and i need a best performance for future gaming also would you please sugeest me to buy a best gaming laptop
