Intel graphics HD driver not installing?

Okay, so I wanted to update my graphics drivers, I tried following the instructions given on both the Intel website and various other places and nothing is working.

I first uninstalled the drivers through add/remove programs.
Then I went to the Intel site and downloaded the latest drivers--both the.exe and.zip versions, tried both. I ran all the different setup methods listed in the readme but every time all I get is "one or more drivers failed to install" with the error apparently in "Intel Turbo Boost Technology" driver.

Next downloaded drivers suitable from Lenovo website. But that too failed with error "one or more drivers failed to install"

Help would be very much appreciated.

Lenovo ideapad y510p SLI vs y510p non-SLI?

I'm thinking of buying the Lenovo ideapad y510p particularly for gaming, but also for school since I'm in highschool so I'll need it to write essays and stuff. Anyway, I found two models of the y510p that looked good. The first one has no SLI, but has an optical disc drive, and for some reason I love collecting covers of games and movies and things like that, so that would be really good for me. But I've heard that the SLI model (with obviously no disc drive) has way better performance on graphically demanding games. Here are the specs:

Non-SLI Model:
Prossessor: 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ Processor (2.40GHz 1600MHz 6MB)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT755M GDDR5 2GB
Memory: 8.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz
Hard Drive: 1TB 5400 RPM + 24GB SSD
Optical Drive: Blu Ray/DVD
Network Card: Intel 7260 b/g/n Wireless (2x2 BGN)

SLI Model:
Prossessor: 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ Processor (2.40GHz 1600MHz 6MB)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT755M (SLI) GDDR5 2GB
Memory: 16.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz
Hard Drive: 1TB 5400 RPM + 24GB SSD
Optical Drive: Ultrabay SLI Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GT755M GDDR5 2GB
Network Card: Intel 7260 b/g/n Wireless (2x2 BGN)

Do you guys think the SLI graphics are worth giving up the DVD/Blu-Ray Drive? Thanks!

Added (1). Sorry guys just to clarify-Since I'm 14 and going into high school I'm going to need a laptop anyway, so I can't get a desktop. To David, thanks bro good answer, getting a desktop was my first choice but I couldn't do it bc I need a laptop.

Is the MacBook Pro w/Retina better than the Lenovo ThinkPad T510 for audio performance/DJ stuff?

I need a new laptop for audio editing and good overall sound (including bass). I was researching about the Lenovo ThinkPad T510 which has FireWire, 7200 RPM, is TI 1394 chipset compatible and 4 GB RAM which fits the specs I require for a audio-specialized laptop. But I have noticed that many DJs use MacBooks and that the Pro used to be compatible with FireWire (don't know if it still is with the Retina model) but believe that Mac OS has it's own specifications an limitations which might outnumber PCs'. I'm confused, :'( someone suggest me with a more thorough spec comparison or if that doesn't cut it, someone suggest me another kick-*** laptop built for cutting-edge audio performance. In that case, the laptop should fit a budget of not more than $1300.

It would be a great help if someone hears me out here.

Best laptop among these choices?

Lenovo Y510

MSI GE70 2OE

Sager NP8265 (Clevo P150SM)

ASUS G750JW

My criteria
POWER: Can play latest demanding games like Bf4(preferably while recording)
LOOKS: has to look badass (Clevo P150 looks kind of plain though)
BATTERY LIFE(I already know the Y510 terrible battery life)
MOBILITY: weight etc.
KNOWN ISSUES AND IF THEY ARE FIXABLE

also if you have a better choice of laptop please suggest as long as its in the price range within these laptops (below $1500)

PS. I live in the Philippines (doesn't matter Because I can ship it here. But if you can refer a local Philippine store where i can buy these laptops please do)

Does anyone have a decent laptop computer?

I'm looking for a widescreen laptop computer that runs Windows Vista must be reasonably priced since I'm on SSI Disability. I live in Ravenswood, West Virginia.

Spilled water on my MacBook Air

(About 5 minutes ago) Was drinking water and about a sip of it spilled onto the left side of my keyboard. The computer didn't seem affected by it, but I panicked and turned off the laptop. It is upside down, shut off. I don't know what to do. Did the water spread to other areas of the laptop? Does the rice actually work or make it worse? Just need answers because it is a 4 month old laptop. Freaking out.
