I'm trying to buy a laptop from the Lenovo laptop (Y500) and I can't seem to customize them. When I go to the "customize and buy" screen, the system components seem to be locked, and I can't choose what I want - I can select different warranties, software, accessories and such but not hardware like hard drives, memory etc. Are Lenovo laptops available only pre-built or am I missing something obvious?
Here is where I'm buying from:

I have tried all the obvious android 4.0.3 SIM settings. I insert the SIM card into the slot and it has a 3G signal, also I can send text messages to phone numbers but I can't get access to the Internet. Does anybody have the same problem and is there any solution?
Thank you!
Added (1). It's a SIM card for 3G Internet that I use with my laptop.
Just got my new Lenovo Ideapad Y400, i opened the laptop and on the right there are stickers for the processor and graphics card in english, then on the left side there's a playing card- sized sticker entirely in chinese with a few pictures. I have seen other people's Y400/ 500 laptops and they are all in english, so why is mine different?

I do play high graphics games like battle field 3.
my budget: around $1100.
I'm a college student and am looking for a affordable Laptop for school, I ran across the Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 Laptop and it is surprisingly affordable but my question is, is this Laptop a good one and how are things like speed and ability to play audio and video?
I was in Fry. Looking at laptops for my son and I saw this Lenovo laptop, Never heard of Lebovo. Is it a good laptop? For gamming.
Which laptop is better Dell or lenovo?
In the past, I've owned laptops from as low as $200 to as high as $2,000. My main complaint with all these laptops is sluggishness, not to mention overheating as well. I've followed the experts' advice on how to maintain optimal performance, but such issues are evidently unavoidable.
I don't want to buy anymore HP, Acer, Dell, Compaq, Toshiba, and Samsung laptops. I'm considering Lenovo or ASUS.
Any comments on their respective performance and quality? If so, could you also offer a few models for consideration? I'm looking for speed, power, and durability. I'm neither a gamer nor a programmer. Basically, I want a laptop that isn't sluggish.
And if you think it's the operating system that's the culprit, please also suggest viable alternatives.
Added (1). When working, I have many windows and programs open. Perhaps I need to buy a laptop with high processing power and RAM.
Added (2). Actually, I do use compressed air to clean those sections. Thank you for the suggestion, though.
I do my best to select the best anti-virus software on the market. I used to have Lavasoft, but they went down in quality. Fortunately, the laptops I've owned rarely contracted malware and viruses. I defragment my drives and so forth.
Added (3). Yeah, they make anti-virus software too. I switched to Avast two months ago.
