Lenovo G710 fan always at full speed (windows 8)?

I just got the laptop today, tried speedfan and it doesn't even detect any fans, so that doesn't work. My cpu is running at 2% so it's no where close to overworked or hot, the room is cool too, it sounds like the fan is running at 100%, how do i stop it? It's very loud

Why does my Lenovo G585 laptop take long to start up?

Black Friday of 2011 I bought a Lenovo G585 laptop(running off windows 8), now for the most part it runs fine however over the past couple of years I noticed a rather disturbing flaw. You see whenever I close the lid of the laptop before it completely shuts down, whenever I decide to turn it back on, it'll take a while to boot up. For instance when I turn it on it'll greet me with the Lenovo logo then instead of taking me to the log in screen, the screen just stays black.Sometimes I'll have to reset the computer 2 or 3 times just to get it to get me to the log in screen. Is this a problem I should get checked out or should I just continue to close the led once the computer has completely shut down? Also wanted to know if anyone else has the same problem?

Is a Lenovo G500 laptop good for capturing gameplay and editing?

I just recently picked up and Elgato Capture Card and was going to record gameplay on my Xbox 360 but my laptop that I had didn't have the right requirements needed to record gameplay. It was also really laggy and slow. I'm thinking of buying a Lenovo G500 to capture gameplay and to edit videos. Is that laptop compatible with my Elgato Capture Card and able to edit videos without any lag? It has a Processor of "Intel 3rd generation core i3. Its processor speed is "2.4GHz". It has 4Gb of RAM and 1TB Hard Drive. Under Graphics it says "Intel Hd Graphics 4000. The price of the laptop is $449.99 Is the Specifications good enough to record and edit videos?

New Laptop for Freshman College Student?

I'm going to start my 1st year in college this fall and I'm in the market for a laptop. Only problem is picking up one. I plan to have a budget of around $500 but no more than $600. Here's what I'm looking for (besides price):
-Portable (between 13.3" and 15.6")
-Durable (Tough Plastic or Aluminum)
-Decent Specs (processor, HDD, screen)
-OS doesn't matter
-Manufacture doesn't matter

I'm not looking for a death-defying gaming machine. Just one for common task like web browsing, online videos, and simple office multitasking. Occasionally I will want to use programs like Photoshop and simple video editing. Anyone who has been to college might more or less know what I'm on about.

I'm eyeing right now for the Lenovo IdeaPad U430p (It's on sale for $559.99) That should give an idea as to what I'm looking for. Good offer or is there anything that can beat it in specs or price? Honest answers will be appreciated. Thank you.
