Why are some desktop PC's more expensive than others with similar (or worse) specs?

I'm looking at desktop PC's and I've noticed that some are more expensive for no apparent reason. For example, a PC like the Lenovo E32 which comes with a 3200MHz processor and 4GB of RAM costs £980, but a Lenovo K450, which has a 3500MHz processor and 16GB of RAM (and 2GB dedicated memory) costs £899. Why would the PC with better specs be cheaper?

I know that the E32 is described as a 'Workstation' whilst K450 is simply called a 'desktop'. Does this make any difference?

Added (1). Thanks for the responses guys. Could anyone recommend a desktop that could do complicated calculations very quickly? Is it only really the CPU that effects calculations per second?

What startup programs from the task manager can I disable in windows 8.1?

I have a Lenovo computer from the G505s series (model # 20255) with Windows 8.1, and I want to know which startup program I can disable to let my computer have a faster performance. The startup programs I have are: Catalyst® Control Center Launcher, ETD Control Center, Intel Services Manager, Lenovo Battery Management Software Ver 8.0, Lenovo Energy Management Software 8.0, Conexant High Definition Audio Filter Agent, PowerDVD RC Service, RTFTrack, SmartAudio CPL (32bit), MUI StartMenu Application, and Mcagent. If anyone with knowledge about computers and their programs could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Win7 starts directly without waiting for the cpu power switch to be pressed?

To switch on the computer first we have to switch on the mains. Then the CPU power switch.

My computer was working fine when it had XP OS. We upgraded to WIN7 Prof. Since then the WIN7 starts directly on switching on the mains without waiting for the CPU Switch to be pressed.

Lenovo Desktop.

Windows 7 black screen on start up?

Hi, I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate. Today, I encountered a problem. In the middle of me working on windows 7, suddenly everything hung up and only the desktop theme appeared. Tried CTRL-ALT-DLT but windows throwed me an error saying something along the lines "failed to complete operation". Rebooted by Lenovo Laptop only to see a black screen and a mouse cursor. Windows booted fine but upon the start up, I get only a black screen with a movable cursor mouse.

Like I said, the CTRL-ALT-DLT doesn't work. Tried safe mode and still the problem persist. Even in safe mode, I get a black screen and a mouse cursor. Tried system restore but, Unfortunately, I do not have any restore points to restore the system to. Also, tried system repair on windows CD and got a message saying windows can't detect any problem.

I have been struggling with this issue for the past 12 days. I know the easy way around is to reinstall win7 but I have some valuable data, excel and official documents in win 7 and can't afford to loose it.

I have a dual OS on my laptop "win xp" along with win 7 and xp boots fine.

I would really appreciate if someone can help me fix this problem. I'm even ready to reinstall win7 provided if anyone can suggest me a solution as to how not to loose data with a fresh win7 install.

I need a fix for this black screen on start up very badly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sony vaio mouse problem sticking and jumping?

I'm hoping someone can help me please before I throw my new laptop out of the window!

I have just bought a Sony Vaio SFV152 Laptop with windows 8 and it's driving me mad. I love the graphics etc but the mouse is sending me around the bend… I used to have a Lenovo T500 and I'm so missing it but was advised getting a vaio for graphics.

Anyway, moan over and onto the problem… I play Startrek online and use my mouse quite a lot. The thing is everytime I try and use it, it either sticks, jumps or brings the sides of the desktop (which has the clock/search/share/devices bit on it)

Is there a way of having a smooth running mouse? Any help gratefully received! :0)

Added (1). Sorry I mean't touchpad not mouse (although I'm thinking an external mouse might help?)
